Khandi Camp - Rohet - Sardar Samand Kotri - Narlai - Ranakpur - Kumbhalgarh |
Day 1:-
AM: Drive 1hr from Jodhpur to Khandi Wilderness Camp. Lunch
PM: Meet your guide and horses, and try out horses this evening.
Day 2:-
AM: Ride out visiting Bishnoi villages enroute to Rohet Garh - ( 16kms) (3 hrs ride) Lunch.
PM: Leisure at Poolside ,village walk.
Day 3:-
AM: Ride 28kms (5 hrs ride) to Sardar Samand through sandy tracts and scrubland, passing quaint hamlets of colorfully clad tribes of the desert.
PM: Relax in the luxurious Palace with its comfortable rooms, its pool on the terrace, and watch the bird life on the lake. Amazing sunset views.
Day 4:-
Drive ( 2 hrs) past the busy town of Pali, crossing busy highways to reach the Jawali Shiva temples. We meet our horses here for a picnic lunch.
PM: Ride on into low hillocks and open grassland, and by evening arrive at an ancient 200 yr old castle in the middle of a small rustic shepherd’s village. The castle has been provided with modern amenities. (20kms) (4 hrs ride)
Day 5:-
AM: Ride out past open farmland, en route to the rocky hills of Narlai. (This is a 3 hrs ride) (15 kms ) Lunch.
PM: Leisure at Narlai, climb the rock of Narad and visit the village.
Day 6:-
AM: Ride out past farms and lakes and you will soon arrive at the Muthana bird lake. (4 hrs ride)( 20 Kms) Here we stop for refreshments. We then transfer to jeeps and drive 10Kms through the merchant town of Sadri bringing us to Fateh Bagh for Lunch.
PM: Visit the famous 15th century. Ranakpur Jain Temples by Jeep. (4 kms ).
Day 7:-
AM: Drive back to meet your horses at Ghanerao. The Castle of Ghanerao is the home of your riding escort. Mount up and ride out past tribal garasia villages and farms along the Aravalli and we enter the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, riding (4 hrs)(18kms)up a Steep trail through the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary climbing 2000ft to the The Aodhi. Lunch at The Aodhi.
PM: Visit the Kumbhalgarh Fort circa 1458, with its huge bastions, 9 gates, and 36Kms of unbroken wall. This historic fort built by Rana Kumbha was so strong that it withstood almost continuous attacks by the Mughals.
Day 8:-
END Depart for Udaipur
